When we come to your establishment, we expect to be waited on, not told, 'Go take whatever table you like' and left standing there looking around with a squirmy toddler...a good hostess should know where to seat guests with children.

A Good waitress will ask immediately if there is anything the child needs?  This keeps kid quiet while mom an dad can look at the menu

A good cook should be able to whip up a gluten free meal anywhere pretty easily...if not, they should go back to cooking school, or learn the basics

A good waitress when waiting on a family with kids, will check back often to see if needs are being met. It reduces noise from thirst/hungry kids.

Eh why not, if there can be a thread from a waitress bitching about what they expect from their customers, why not do the opposite.

A good server will not put hot items or drinks directly in front of your toddler. You'd think this would be common sense. Apparently it isn't. A good server will definitely not move it back in front of your toddler once you've moved it!

A good server also doesn't let your table stay super cluttered with dirty dishes while they keep bringing out others.

a good server understands that you don't get a tip for simply showing up to work. You have to put forth at least a little effort.
