DH's best friend didn't invite DD to their wedding :(

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

My DD is 4. I'm a SAHM and rarely leave her for extended periods. I have never left her overnight.

My DH's best friend is getting married a 4 hour drive away, near his fiancee's hometown. They're very close to us and she calls them aunt and uncle. We are invited to the wedding, but DD is not, because it's "child-free".

DD was so excited about the wedding and will be so disappointed. I said that maybe none of us should go since I don't feel comfortable leaving her overnight, and DH got SO mad at me. He said he's not missing this wedding, it's his best friend, and it would be "ridiculous" and "rude" for me to not come to our close friend's wedding.

What do you think?

Can you bring someone with you like a parent or a sitter? I wouldn't miss it and I would ask a parent to watch her. If anything I wouldn't make my husband miss it. If you want to stay with your dd he shouldn't have to miss the wedding of his best friend.

I am about 90% sure this has been posted already before. By the way what is with the obsessive wedding/kid free posts lately it's so annoying!!!!

Its not personal towards your daughter...it is a child free wedding.

Stand by your husband on this one.You are a wife and a mom.Find your little girl a baby sitter you can trust.Tell your daughter you will bring her home a special treat from the wedding.
