So, I have posted before about my crazy next-door neighbor. She screams, yells, and cusses at her kid. Today, when we got home from school, I walk into our apartment and next door my crazy neighbor is screaming obscenities at her eight-year-old son. So I called CPS. They told me they will be sending someone out to check on it. I told them that I wished to remain anonymous, but that they could feel free to knock on my door and get my statement. I'm so sick of hearing this woman screaming obscenities at her child. We have lived here almost 2 years and it's been going on the entire time.

Now, I'm just bracing for the shit storm to ensue.

UPDATE: This morning on the way to school, a car hit us on my scooter. So I got home a little later than usual. When I got home CPS was waiting for me. As I was talking to them, my neighbor came out and went nuts. She lunged at me and choked me. CPS worker called 911 for me. She hit me and kicked me as she was cussing me out. When the sheriff got here, he saw the red on my neck and arrested her for assault. As they were taking her away in handcuffs, she screamed at me that she was going to kill me and my daughter. So she got an additional charge for terrorist threats. I hope she enjoys spending her Christmas in jail...

Update 2: So, she got out of jail today. I saw her ex-husband as he was moving his sons stuff out of her apartment. He says that she will be staying somewhere else until she is arraigned for the assault. My emergency restraining order was approved this morning. She can come back here to pick up her things, but must have a sheriff escort. I should find out sometime this week when her court date is.

Update 3- 12/28

Well, we didn't have to wait for her to be evicted. She showed up this morning with a team of movers and the Sherriff officers. We had planned on not being here, but they all arrived before we were ready to leave. Since her exDH has already moved most of her stuff out for her this week, they were only here for about 6 hours. DD and I stayed inside the whole time and never had to see her.

A few days ago, the exDH brought his son to see me and he gave me a cute little gingerbread house as a thank you and stayed with us for dinner. The dad again thanked me for helping his son and apologized for the behavior of his ex wife. He is helping her to get into an anger management program and parenting classes. The CPS case will not be closed until she completes those programs and the charges pending against her are settled. Depending on the outcome of the case against her, he might finally be awarded full custody of his son. He has been awarded temporary custody and she has only supervised visits with her son at least until she goes to court for the assault and terrorist threat charges. I am pressing charges against her for the assault and her threatening me and my DD. She plead not guilty, so it is going to go to trial. I don't know when her arraignment was, but I figure it happened before she got out of jail. Thankfully, there was no drama today. I have completed my victim statement with the sheriff's department and have to give a deposition before the trial, which should happen sometime in the next few months. I don't know if it will make it to trial or if I will have to testify. I don't know how that works yet since I have the restraining order against her.

Thank you to all who have been so supportive to me through all of this. I will no longer respond to the negative comments.

And people wonder why kids die from being beat because cps is dealing with people who call over shit like this.

Until now, I've been too scared to call because she truly is fucking crazy. Today however I reached my level of tolerance and finally called. I really hope she get some help. The little boy is actually sweet, and he's autistic. Completely unacceptable!

So I should just turn a blind eye away from obvious abuse? How do I know she doesn't beat him too?

Oh man, I used to live next door to someone like that. I was always conflicted about whether or not I should call CPS on her. I felt so bad for the kids. I never did call.

What do you really expect cps to do? It's not illegal to yell curse words az your child, awful as it may be.

She probably needs some help. It takes a lot to raise a child let alone one with some special needs.

I don't think calling was bad, I just hope she gets some help. And that their relationship as mother and son gets better.

Oh give me a break! I'm glad that you can ignore someone abusing a child, however I am not that cold.
