I will strongly encourage and support them all the way through. But ultimately, it is their decision.
I will strongly encourage my dd to go to college but not force. I feel like it needs to be something she wants for herself, not something I want for her.
With the prices of college probably ending up 10x as much as now... no.
If they want to go, then they can go. Not everyone who graduates gets a good job and most successful people have either dropped out or never went.
I won't help them pay for it though. I will however counsel them on it financially if they decide it, but I would never force them to go.
I care about my children too much to force ridiculous amounts of debt on them because of some notion that they have to go to college to be successful or get a decent good paying job.
If the child doesn't want to go, then it's a waste of time and money. I've seen it many times.
