Cat is shedding and brushes won't work... tips?

So both my cats (born in May) are shedding, but the female (Lily) is shedding something fierce. I have both a shed monster and a normal wire brush and they do okay, but even after I'm done she's covered in loose fur, and I have it all over my clothes, hands and face. I'll pet her and come up with a hand covered with fur. Short of a vacuum (which would scare the ever loving shit out of her) what can I do?

Try taking her to the groomer and getting her hair cut. My mom did that with her cat and after that he was easier to keep up. He is a long hair breed.

Try a Furminator brush. Or a Zoom Groom. Both work wonders. Also make sure they are getting enough omega oils in their diets.

Her fur is actually fairly short already. She just has lots of it.

Vacuum. That's all you can do.

There isn't much you can do. You're already brushing her. My golden sheds a lot, even with grooming. I just vacuum, a lot.
