My 8 year old son just came to me. "Mom I've been hearing this word around and I wonder what it means?"
So I'm thinking it's something like douche or Twerk... Whatever things you hear in school from older kids

It was child molester. What would you say?

I would tell my eight year old exactly what it was.

Tell him what it is.

I would say that it is a person, usually an adult, that touches them in their private areas without their permission or wants them to touch him/her in their private areas

8 is old enough to understand

A very bad person that hurts people. Specifically children. Then I'd ask where he heard it and make sure everything is okay.

You can tell him what it is without going into graphic detail.

Do you not teach your son about stranger danger?  Protecting private areas?  Inapporpriate touching?

At that age my kids knew what a child molester was. I told them its a person who touches kids in inappropriate places (penis/vagina) or makes a child touch them in their private area. They knew at an early age to tell me if anyone touched them in those areas or touched them in any way that made them feel uncomfortable. Have you not had that talk with him?
