Alternatives to pediasure, ensure and boost??

My sons endocrinologist told me he needs two of these things a day. I told her I cannot afford them. Cause well. I can't. lol

She said carnation instant breakfast with whole milk but even those suckers are expensive.

Anyone have an alternative? He needs to get all the calories he can ( she wants him to have at least 2300) and these were to be used in addition to meals.

Kelloggs meal replacement shakes, EAS shakes, Atkins shakes (those are low carb/high protein though).  Maybe go to a health/vitamin shoppe and buy some weight gainer powder and mix your own shakes.

I believe the carnation breakfasts are going to be about as cheap as you can find =( Do you get WIC? Can they order some for you?

We like carnation. Although it's breakfast essentials now... no more instant ;)

Carnation is not that expensive. Cut something else in your budget. Sorry to be harsh but this is your child... don't cut corners

Carnation is the only other thing I can think of. Can you cut something else out of your budget so you can afford the drink that he needs?
