Vet bills!! Let's hear them!

The other post about the dying dog and the owner not taking him into the vet because of money issues got me thinking! What was your most expensive vet bill and what was it for?

Mine: only $50. Ds 1 ripped pieces of a wicker laundry basket and fed it to the dog. She was vomiting everywhere. Took her in, no intestinal blockage (thank god) she got a shot and sent home with some meds! She was perfect within 24 hrs.

What's your stories???!!!!!!!

Roughly $1100 the week of August 27th, 2012 for our oldest kitty. Sadly we ended up having to lay her to rest after discovering she was in full kidney failure.

Unexpected would be about $400. The cat tried to steal the dog's food, the dog snapped at him to warn him off but accidentally made contact.

Expected would be about $350, which was to do a full dental cleaning and extractions.

Oh shit umm 1000 bucks for surgery when my baby girl had to have biopsys.

My dad paid 5000 for his kitty, she was never spayed and had an infection in her uterus and had to have emergency surgery.

We thought our 5 year old at the time broke our puppy pugs leg and we made an appt but the next day she was fine. I think we paid 20 $ for not giving them notice but it was a while ago when this happened

I only go for "normal" things and it always costs me an arm and a leg. When my dog was a puppy I took him in for his first check up and that plus one shot cost me nearly $200 bucks. That's usually what I pay every time I'm in there with one of my animals. One cat shot is the same crap.

1 mom liked this
I've had my Pekingese puncture her eye and had to have emergency eye surgery. It was 1300.00. Next year she got a staph infection in her only eye left and I went to a specialist my dad loaned me 3k, saved her and her eye!

But if you can't afford pets ppl shouldn't have them, they need to be taken care of.

$50 for your most expensive vet bill?  That's crazy!  The most I've spent is about $800. Pancreatitis and several night hospitalization.  We have a new puppy and the regular visits are still about $100 each.
