Were to go to the ER, would they be able to see anything on an ultrasound?

When I was pregnant with DS, I had a transvaginal ultrasound at 8 weeks and you could see a tiny little "peanut" shape. But the ER doctor told me you cant see anything until almost 20 weeks?!?!?!

If I go this time, im going to a different hospital.

(I bled for a week straight, although it has stopped now.. im still a little worried because im having severe back pain and cramps.)

UPDATE;

I called a new obgyn. She wants me to take an at home test to see if it still says pregnant. If so, I will be scheduling an appointment with them. Im just waiting for SO to get home with the test. Please keep praying

You should be able to see something. You won't be able to hear anything but you should be able to see.

20 weeks? By 20 weeks you can see hands, feet, body, etc. the ER doctor is full of crap.

I just want to know if everything is okay.. My OBGYN wont see me. ER doctors tell me its to early to care. :/

Are you serious with this? How can someone be so uneducated about pregnancy?

I was thinking the same thing. I found out I was having a boy at 18 weeks last time. Lol.

My ob wont see me and the er doctor pretty much said its to early to care.

I just want to know whats going on.

Or the OP misunderstood what the doctor was saying, which seems far more likely. You won't see much detail until 20 weeks, or perhaps he was saying that they won't do an ultrasound until 20 weeks (as is the case in some OB offices)

This.  ALSO, what a complete freaking waste of resources to go to the er for an ultrasound.
