Well, I'm mostly done now, but when they were little, it was wonderful. Long days of pursuing our own interests and reading 100's of books. Sometimes, they would build fantasy worlds all over the house (My room was Antarctica when they did the continents). One son loved to build complex structures with magnets. None of this, "Ok, kids...we need to drop everything RIGHT NOW and move on to this activity!" so they have really long attention spans.
Both are excellent students today, making top grades in classes far beyond their academic year, so I think it was a good idea.
