I wouldn't just because grains are really really hard for babies to digest. My second dd had extreme difficulty with gluten and it caused her extreme pain and bowel problems. We had to cut it completely out of her diet.

It's not that unusual for parents to feed 6 month olds things like that. They give them biter biscuits and things like that, those aren't that much different than bread. I personally wouldn't though.
