Chinese website under fire for selling 'child-sized' sex doll

DHgate has sold the $180 doll to customers in the U.S., UK, Germany and Japan, but group Dining for Dignity has slammed the website and taken to social media to pressure the retailer to stop offering a sex toy that '(fuels) human sex trafficking, pedophilia, violent rape, and more.'

DINING FOR DIGNITY

Dining for Dignitiy created a Facebook group to try and stop a Chinese website DHgate from selling ‘child-sized’ sex dolls.

A Chinese website has been criticized after it sold "child-sized" sex dolls.

And some of them, which resembled young girls, have been snapped up by customers in the U.S.

The doll — described as a "beautiful young girl sex doll for men" — costs about $180.

The disturbing item was discovered by a campaign group called Dining with Dignity, a group which uses social media to raise awareness of specific issues.

The group set up a Facebook page to pressure DHgate, a Chinese online retailer, to stop selling the item, reports the Huffington Post.

"This negligence is fueling human sex trafficking, pedophilia, violent rape, and more," its petition reads.

The dolls have also been sold in the UK, Germany and Japan.

Ugh. That is horrible.

But devil's advocate here, if it stops them from abusing actual children, wouldn't it be a good thing?

I think that is the defense the company used, actually.

I don't look at them as a deterrent, but as something that may desensitize people to this crime even more.  KWIM?

While it is disgusting, I support them. Many pedophiles DON'T like being attracted to children and don't want to actually act on their attractions, I think something like this would help more of them and keep them from hurting actual children.

I don't know-I guess I don't see it that way.  These dolls could be the beginning of something awful for some of them.  How long will something artificial satisfy?

I don't know. I am disgusted by it, but I can see the argument. UGH! It is like that porn that they use age regression on, so that it looks like little kids, but it actually adults. I don't know how to feel about that either. BARF

Yes.  At what point is it a crime?  I get what you're saying.

It is a crime when it involves people who can't consent. Until then....

It's not going to change the fact that they're pedophiles, but it's better for this option to be out there for them. Not every pedophile acts on their attractions, many of them hate the ones that do just as much as everyone else does. The ones who have a hard time controlling themselves can use something like this as an outlet.
