Do you have to gather worms to put in your compost? Or you really don't have to and the compost will be just fine?

I've yet to use a worm compost but have been reading into it and what type of plants/veggies benefit from it.

We use coffee grounds, egg shells, and vegetable/fruit peelings in our compost for both our raised veggie garden, my "regrows," and our fruit trees.

They help a lot, but you can go without. My great grandpa just dumped the stuff you would compost in the garden and worked it in the ground. No pile or bucket involved.
