Keeping my kids home due to the cold

I have asthma. Two of my kids have asthma. Cold weather can be really hard on asthma. It's usually ok but the colder the air the more likely an attack is. I took the dog out and yep, asthma attack. My 5 year old opened the door and took a few breaths and started wheezing. So, I'm not risking it. I can't see dragging everyone out in the cold and possibly having all three of us suffering. So unfortunately that means my older child is missing school too. But there's not much else to be done. And before anyone says just use an inhaler or the nebulizer, it's not always that easy, that doesn't always immediately fix it. Thankfully it's supposed to warm up tomorrow so it won't be as bad.

I understand.  I also have asthma, and cold air can be a trigger for me as well.  It was a lot worse when I was younger.

Don't blame you at all.

Enjoy a nice day with hot chocolate and snuggles.

I've done it before. My daughter had pretty severe eczema when she was younger, and the super cold days were so hard on her skin.

I understand my older dd has asthma and if it's to cold I keep her home. We don't need an attack and I'm not going to send her out into something that is a trigger. She carries her inhaler everywhere but like you said doesn't always fix it right away.
