I have rear-end problems (for 2 yrs) and have had several tests, scrapes, swabs and so on but the Dr.s can't figure out what's wrong.  I've tried countless expensive prescrip. creams that didn't work along with pills that didn't work.  I have found that burn gel with Lidocaine gets rid of the itching and burning.

Does anyone know if that's okay to use (on the outside) on my rectal area, long-term?

Am posting anon b/c of the delicate nature of the post...

I have no clue. Would it loosen your muscles over time?

No, I had a colonoscopy (sp?) and no polyps or hemorrhoids but severe burning and itching and some bleeding in my rectal area (for 2 yrs now).  I've seen gastroenterologists (again sp?) and my gyno, but they can't figure out why I'm having these issues.

I'm not sure. Call Walgreens or CVS and talk to a pharmacist.

Maybe try witch hazel. I know that works on hemorrhoids...

I was using witch hazel in the begining but the "specialist" told me to discontinue and try the extremely expensive creams that didn't work and I got tired of paying $200 a visit and $100 a script with no relief so I quit going to them.  I still use witch hazel wipes after every bm.  Thanks, I'll try calling a pharmacist.
