Did/do you have to pay for your child to attend kindergarten all day? Why would you have to pay for kindergarten?? This is absurd to me!!  Will this put my child behind if he doesn't got to school all day??

No. Kindergarten is part of the public school curriculum, which means you shouldn't have to pay for it (unless of course you send your child to a private school). If your child is in public school, they attend Kindergarten tuition free (we all pay for public schools with our taxes).

Are you thinking of preschool or pre-k, maybe?

Nope. She's not in kindergarten yet, but she's in pre-k and will be staying in her school next year for kinder. She goes to the same public school my sister went to.

In Illinois, some districts have all day and some have half day. It's just the luck of the draw. Here in Washington though, it's all half day it seems unless you pay. At my dd's school it would be $300.00 per month for all day. She's does half day and there is no art, music, or gym in order to make up for the time. She will not be behind.

No, we would only have to pay if we sent our kids to preschool, which would be $100 per month.

Don't have to pay here in GA unless you send your child to private school.
