If she got H1N1 would it be that bad?

My Mom is dying. She has a rare illness and is being kept alive only becouse of a feeding tube. The home care worker did something wrong when transfering her in the lift, the feeding tube broke on the outside of her body. So its off to ER to get it repalced.

We are having a big H1N1 outbreak. Would it really be that bad if she got it an passed? I hate how my father is keeping her alive on this tube when she does not want to be alive this way. She has no quality of life. Movement in eyes and only one arm. Can't even speak. Not worth it.

So am I the worst Daughter in the world?

I don't think you are. I would NEVER want to live like that, and my husband knows it and I hope if anything happens he'll respect my wishes

(hugs) sorry about your mom

No your not in the wrong at all, I bet your mom wants to die. I know I would at that point. Not trying to be harsh or anything.

Because there is no way she would survive.

I hate seeing her like this, it's time for her to pass

And she would spend her final days sicker and in more pain. Hence suffering MORE.

He does not have POA but where I live due to the fact she had nothing in place spouse gets to choose. We had big all out battle when the tube first went in... He could afford lawyer, I couldn't. Hospital was forced to side with him.

Did I say anything about it being better for her to get the flu? No.I addressed her feelings about not wanting her mom to suffer any more.I DON'T think her mom would suffer less if she got the flu and passed because of it but I know where she's coming from and I was showing some compassion.I know the last thing she would actually want is for her mom to be even sicker.

She would at least be in a hospital on pain medication doing proper end of life care.
