Im a little annoyed right now. I cut my boys' hair tonight and posted pics on FB. My cousin (thru marriage) commented "I hope those boys have toboggans to keep their heads warm. A bit cold to go that short."

I commented back "Of course, they do. Can't stop getting hair cuts just because it's winter."

Wtf. Am I supposed to make them grow their hair long thru the winter months?

I realize my hormones have made me extra bitchy lately but that little remark pissed me off.

**Edit for those who apparently didn't know "toboggan" is also a name for a hat.

toboggan hat
Web definitions

A knit cap, originally of wool, though now often of synthetic fibers, is designed to provide warmth in cold weather. Many variants exist, with many names, such as bobcap, and stocking cap or watch cap

This is what she meant. No, she did not mean for me to put a sled on my kids' heads. lol. So yeah... anyway... lol

I do leave my boys hair a little bit longer in the winter. During the summer they have a very short crew cut during the winter I let it grow to just above their collar.

A kid would need a heck of a lot of hair to actually replace a hat in the winter.

Because putting a sled like device on their heads will keep them warm.

Lol @ toboggan as a hat.

But yeah, we don't cut anyones hair from the first snow until spring. It doesn't get that long, just a few inches.
