This Can't Be Right?

I'm a single mom of two children under a year. one is biologically mine, and one is my cousins I adopted. I don't own a home. and I don't qualify for any of those tax exemptions that was on the form.. I filled it my tax return form of my last paystub, so I could have a general idea what I would be getting back. I only paid 1600 in taxes this year, and made under 11,000 in income. but the Turbotax website, says my return is almost 6,000....I'm assuming I screwed something up...but I can't figure out where...Maybe its the site? Has anyone used TurboTax? or had a similiar experiance?

Kids get you a higher return from what I understand. Also, since you made less than 11,000 you should have qualified for the EIC. We've used Turbo Tax in the past and never had an issue.

Because you have kids. Kids give you a bigger return.
