Watching a movie from 1997 and a woman put her baby in his carseat in the front passanger side seat!!?

Umm...Didn't they know about the dangers of airbags? And what they can do to a rear facing carseat!?

I had my first child in 97. The car seat laws/safety were no where NEAR what they are today. Most people didn't give a shit. Yet.

Haha I was watching desperate housewives on Netflix and one of the episodes Lynette puts the 3 boys in the back of the van and the baby girl in the car seat in the front passenger seat. I about had a heart attack

No they didn't know the dangers of air bags. Where do you think all this laws have come from. Carseat laws have changed a lot since I have had my first in 2002.

In 97 cars did not have the safety features they do now and did not have the standards for kids seats as they do now either. When I was growing up car seats were only used for babies and young toddlers and carseats only had a bar that went down over the head and snapped in to the middle. Shit changes. By the time our kids have kids most people under 18 will be in carseats. Or will all be put in personal safety bubbles.

Some cars were not equipped with passenger air bags in 1997.

I'm pretty sure I didn't have airbags in 97. However my first two babies were born in 99 and were in the back seat. Always.
