Help! What kind of toys should I get?

Posted by   + Show Post

We are having my hubby's entire family over for dinner Saturday. We have dinner all planned out but I haven't had small kids in my home in a very long time. There will be 18 kids ranging from newborn to age 17.

I was thinking coloring books and Nerf footballs. Plus my DD has an obscene amount of dress up clothes that I had collected for her when she was about 8 or 9. (I had bought used dance costumes and prom dresses on ebay)

Any ideas ladies? TIA!

Do you have a back yard?

Quoting over40bride:

Great idea but I think my yard is too small.

Quoting Anonymous: I would get a bounce house.

OMG bubbles! Of coarse! Thank you.

They have come over before. (not all at once tho) and they never bring toys for their kids.

I want to start a collection and have them over more often.

Ugh! Our back yard is so small. We are just renting atm. I have never had a small back yard It is cute with a lot of plants and a play pool. I like it for just us but for kids no way! LOL

We live in a cul de sac so I was thinking the boys could throw a football or two out there.

Quoting Rebecca7708: You could always ask them to bring some of their own toys, since you don't have small children. Also, get bubbles! Kids love bubbles! Your back yard is super cute, by the way!

Oh, if it's going to be a regular thing then starting a collection is a good idea. Go to a craft store and pick up some beads, or other crafty items. I'm sure you could find tons of ideas there.

Why not let them play in the pool?

They are coming over at 6ish and even though we are in AZ. It's still cold after dark and the pool water is freezing!

We don't want to take any chances with lack of supervision around the pool anyways with that many kids. The gate will be locked and anything than can be used to climb over will be moved or put away.

Too cold and too many kids. It's a really small pool.

Well, maybe you can save that for when it gets warmer. With that many people around, I'm sure they can take turns supervising. Just a suggestion!
