Many dogs do, shelter or not. Look up the behavior on the web and find a You Tube video for training. Or, call in a trainer.

No I have not. We adopted our fur daughter from the shelter a 1 1/2 ago and have had zero issues with her. She could of been abused that usually a sign.

All dogs can do that, not just those from a shelter.  Take your dog for training...someone who specializes in aggression.  Good Luck

YEP!  I set his butt straight though.  You have to let them know that you are the alpha.  Block him from getting that toy and only let him get it once he has calmed down.  If he is initially aggressive, use a broom to block it from his view or to push him back.  Check out the series Dog Whisperer.

Do you think that would work on walks if he gets aggressive towards other dogs?

I think so-now all I have to do is hold the bottle and he straightens up-

My shelter dog isn't like that.

But my 11 year old black lab has one two he is very aggressive over ( only with other dogs) it's his favorite toy. We have to replace it every few years. ( it's a Kong pacifier toy!) any and all other toys he'll share and play with the other dogs with.

Him and my pitbull will play tug of war together. It's funny because the pit drags him all over the house.

No.  I've seen this behavior in dogs not from a shelter.
