What are the misconceptions that people have about your child's condition that drive you crazy?

There is a group depending on what the special needs is such as autism.  Do a group search to find like-minded Moms for support.

That it's not even real. (Adhd) Or that I medicate him so I don't have to deal with it.

The question is about personal feelings, not if they are correct for others. If you feel differently you're certainly not alone in that opinion.

My sister has Down syndrome and everything she does is because if Down syndrome apparently.
"Down syndrome people are so sweet and kind" is one I hear a lot. Down syndrome doesn't magically make nice people lol.

He was born with Spina Bifida and no one could understand that he did not need a shunt and that he could walk on his own. Oh and that he was NOT a fragile little flower (this last one was family mostly).

No one knows anything about my child's condition. If anything they may think I coddle him because he doesn't speak well for his age. I get asked how old he is frequently.
