my cousin's on and off again girlfriend posted a picture of their baby (8 months) forward facing in her carseat. at first i wanted to leave a comment, because she is young, and a new mom, and maybe she doesnt know? then i thought maybe i should just PM her and tell her, but i dont know her THAT well. sooo i didnt.

would you have done anything? mind your own business? or say something??

I'd mind my own business.

I would have messaged her, and have messaged people I know about car seat issues before.  They have all been thankful for the info!

Talk to your cousin.  Anything you say to her will mostly likely just cause trouble.

i thought about that too, but i dont want him to think that i am judging her parenting skills or anything.

I would be passive about it. Invite her to one of those carseat safety things they do and let the professionals tell her it's not safe.

Tell him that you aren't judging anyones parenting abilities but sometimes new parents just don't know any better and maybe he could explain to her why what she is doing is for one illegal and two super unsafe.

Not my kid, not my problem and not my business. I wouldn't say anything. Just forget about and move on.
