So I was making a casserole and I needed cheddar cheese. I knew I had some cause I saw it in the fridge the other day. I got it out to shred it and I noticed the expiration date was "August 15, 2013". So its like over 5 months expired. The package was unopened and it looked ok so I opened it and it seemed fine. It didn't smell or have mold on it so.........ya, I used it. I wont be eating the casserole cause I'm on a diet but I'm sure it will be fine. *Crosses fingers* LOL!!

So have you ever eaten or fed your family expired food? Would you ever consider it?

So nobody died or even got sick from eating "the cheese"! DH said it was really good and had 2 plates of it. Later in the evening he had another plate. No puking or diarrhea. No doom or gloom. All is OK. So to all of you that thought I was giving my family food poisoning........Suck it!!!!!!! LOL

5 months expired and you fed it to your family? Nasty. A McDonald's cheeseburger will look about the same 5 months later too, would you let them eat that?
