I'm one of those people that added extra letters to a perfrctly good name.
I don't regret my dd's name at. Actually I love it and it fits her well. I just hate how I spelled it. I wish that I had spelled it the normal way. I'm really thinking about changing the spelling legally. So there. I've never told anyone not even DH how I feel about dd's name.

Deoends on your state but our state you can change the name by one letter for free. So you can add or take away one letter or change a letter completely.

Could check in to it at least.

I think a full name change (birth certificate, ss, etc) costs around $750. Not positive since Ive never experienced it.

Only cost me $150 to change my name although for a different reason. $750 sounds outrageous to me.

If you really hate it, change it. I gave my DS my last name because I wasn't married to his dad, but gave his last as a second middle name. We decided to change it of course after we got married, and the courthouse just have us a paternity affidavit and told us to change his name that way and it only cost $12. DH had even signed the original birth certificate and they said it was fine to change his name that way. You should at least ask about it.

She turns 3 next month. I really want to get the spelling changed before she starts school.
