What would you do with it?
I would help my son, and then I would do as much as I could do to help homeless and starving people. I would get them off the street, feed them and help them get back on their feet.
Split it 50/50 with my husband.
Fix up or buy my in-laws a new house, buy my mom a bunch of land and buy myself and husband a new house first.
Then I don't know. :P
Wouldn't make any big money decisions for at least 12 months. Would just take the fam & rent a house on the beach in Hawaii for a year and use that time for my husband and I to work with financial planners and attorneys to come up with a plan.
Buy a sh*t ton of land, put a small house on it, use a small portion for gardening, and raising small livestock and horses, and make the rest of the land a wildlife preserve.
I'd pay off our house and all our debt first. Then we'd finish the much needed rennovations to our house and make sure the rest of my family was take care of. Trust funds for my kids, replace my moms beater of a car, etc.
Then I'd take a million or so of the rest and use it for our "fun money", invest a bunch of it, and donate to local underfunded causes I believe in.
Establish trusts for family members, invest some, and give a load of it to charity.
