They closed all the government buildings in my town, but the kids still had school!

I guess I am a bit confused with my Super-intendent today! lol!

All the government buildings are closed because it's -5 degrees out, but yet, school is still in. Even the kids who are in the "no bus zone" still have to walk to school. And I would LOVE to know how a 2 hour delay really helps in this kind of freezing weather? The temp never changed in those two hours! lol!

Gotta love my town!

I hate the snow day logic.
Yesterday schools were open, buses were running, but they said expect 10-30 minute delays.  Ya freaking right I'm going to drag my kids a block away to the bus when it's -25 and stand there for potentially 30+ minutes.  I kept em home.
I sent them today, the roads were clear and the buses weren't delayed.  But holy hell was it cold.  This winter has been nuts!!

We have flurries and they are panicking trying to get the kids home two hours early today.  Granted it doesn't snow that often but sending kids home two hours early, with no ASP is going to really screw some parents.  They should have just called it from the get go.  Curious to see how tomorrow goes...

If our schools closed for those temperatures they would hardly ever be in school during the winter.
