Besides my children, it would be hard to pick one thing. I have my great grandmother's pearls, a charm bracelet that is five generations old, my kids baby books which I have put a ton of effort into, my childhood books, my babies' hospital caps and bracelets, and my wedding dress.

I know I should say my kids - -  BUT it's not, it's my brain and books. Without either I would be lost.

Yeah, yeah, I know kids should be first, yada - yada - yada, but without those brains and books I wouldn't be where I am today, nor be sane enough to be able to take care of those precious kids.

My blue diamond necklace. It's worth more than everything else I own combined, but that's not why I choose it. It symbolizes an entire part of my life that if I didn't have it I would think was nothing more than a dream. Even if I was homeless and living on the streets I would never sell it.  It reminds me of all the promises I made to live my life right and never look back. That I could and can enjoy a life outside of that 'world'. It is symbolic of who I am and where I came from and what I've survived.

I plan on passing it and a letter explaining it's importance to my oldest daughter when I die.

Material possession would be my first edition print of Catcher in the Rye. Was my dads and he gave it to me to read when I was 11. It made me love reading. My dad and I share a love of reading and writing. The smell of that book brings a calm upon me I can't even explain.

but truth be told it's just a possession and really not that important in the grand scheme.

Are you new here or a recycled SN?  I apologize if that seems rude but I ask because of your replies -  -I've seen you in multiple post - - it seem like you're a kindred soul.
