I like my SIL (well the ONE that I've met.) We get along but we don't live close or hang out or anything.

So, the answer to your question is no. It's not weird.

I do not think it is weird....I'm not really close to mine, we hang out when the family is together or when SO wants to go to their house, or they come here, SO & bil are twins, but we kind of have a language barrrier.. I can understand her better than she can understand I, but my French is not that great when it comes to speaking, until I have some wine with her.... My other sil is SO step sister, we get along fine, but we're not close at all...

I don't think it's weird. Every family has different circumstances. I'm very close with DHs 2 sisters, with my brother's wife I have a cordial relationship, but not really closeness. Let's say we get along as nicely as possible, lol.

I have 2. One is close by and she's the devil incarnate. The other one lives about 1000 miles away and I don't see her much, maybe 1-2 times a year.
I'm not close with either of them which makes me sad because I grew up with brothers and would love a sister to be close with

Yes.

I think it's really weird when people don't have a close relationship with their inlaws.

My husband's Mom and sisters are as close to me as my own Mom and sisters.

And our families even hang out without hubby and I there, it's awesome :)

Not really.

My brother's wife, notice I don't say Sister In Law, is a total idiot.

I'm surprised she can walk without an instruction manual.

I can't remember the last time I spoke to my husband's sister, I doubt he remembers either.
And I honestly don't think I have ever spoken to my brothers wife or long term girlfriends without my brothers being around.

But we do live 100 miles away.

She once gave away powdered formula because it was too hard to measure.
