vac vs not vac

I see all these posts about parents saying non-vacc kids will give vacc kids illnesses and start outbreaks but NY question is, if your kid has all his/her vaccs, then shouldn't those vaccs protect your kid from whatever the non-vacc kids have?
Isn't that why you vaccs your kids to begin with?

shouldn't that argument be invalid, since you vaccinate?
