But you dont have to show proof?
I may be a little out of the loop but i thought when we got our taxes done (or for those of you that do your own) we'd have to have some kind of proof that we did infact have health insurance. But we didnt have to show proof when we filed. For those of you that filed your own did you have to scan in a copy of your card or something?

Here, we (the people I know anyway) have always gotten a verification letter in the mail around the same time you get your w2's and you need to bring it all with you but Ma has had this in effect for many years now.

We haven't filed yet, but I saw a sign at one of those Jackson Hewitt places that said something along the lines of "Your health insurance may effect your taxes". I was a little surprised because I didn't think it was supposed to effect taxes until next year.

The fines don't take effect until you file next year.
