My husband has been passing out for the last 2 years he has been diagnosed with vaso-vagal sycope. He also has dyslexia and Bipolar disorder. Before he started passing out he worked as a mason( mainly doing chimney repairs). They took his drivers license. Any way after a year of this we finally filed for disability for him, he was denied the first time we appealed(like his dr told us to do). and it has been 8 months since we appealed. How long does this take?

IDK about the general population, but the backlog on even processing disability requests through the VA is 280 days right now.

Check in on it regularly. If it is like any of the human services things I have dealt with, yhe squeaky wheel gets greased.

Absolutely, if you want this to be expedited and over with. Specifically, you have to find a disability attorney. Lots will work with you and allow you to make payments with your first checks, if you win. It is unfortunate, but this is our system now. They make it impossible for you to do it on your own. Good luck!
