How big can a child's lymph node get before it's concerning?

Our 7 year old son's neck lymph node has been growing for a couple of weeks. It's now over 3 inches. HUGE. Like, freakishly big.

The fact that it was continually swelling is concerning

I would bring them in as soon as it started. Yes, it will come down to because they had just been sick. But I would rather be safe then sorry on it and if it kept getting bigger. I would be back at the Dr's.

He's been to the dr and ER multiple times. They just keep saying he has a virus and referred him to a gastroenterologist for tummy issues he's been having.. No cough, runny nose, sore throat, etc.. It stayed the same size for a while, and I noticed it doubled last night, then like tripled by this morning. Idk wtf. He doesn't act sick at all.

Picture?

And edit: if it's grown that much in less than 48 hours, I'd take him back to the doc. That sounds scary!
