8 yr old birthday party

My DD has only had one real big birthday party. When she was one. This year we are going to get a hotel room and have a pool party. She
will get a few gifts, a cake, pizza, and invite 4 friends. Does this seem too extravagant for an 8 year old?

No. Friends and a hotel a few gifts? That's about right for a party.

No, I think it's great. I tend to make a big deal out of birthdays!

Not at all. We do big parties every year though.

I'm hearing from a few family members that how much we're paying for a hotel room for just a night for an 8 year old party is ridiculous. About $150
