my ex and his wife were supposed to have a baby around valentines day,the baby passed 3 weeks ago. and now my dd is asking why gigi doesnt have a tummy anymore and when her sister is going to get here.her dad told her to ask me......seriously? it wasnt my baby that died why do i have to explain it?

i'll probably get bashed for that last statement but its true,why do i have to explain something to her when it had nothing to do with me

I'm sorry that they put you in that position. Maybe your ex knows that it will be extremely hard for them to tell her and it might be easier to hear coming from you.

Because you aren't emotionally attached to the loss where he is.  It's very raw for him and having to explain it to his other child, fielding all of the questions that will go along with it might just be too much for him right now.  Not to mention I'm sure you would do a better job of explaining it.

Because that's what moms do. Because right now they are grieving and its nice to have someone else answer questions over something like that so that they don't have to.

Have some empathy and just explain to your child what happened.

Wow! How dare him try and push that onto you! I think he should be the one to explain it. His wife, his baby, and his child asking questions about it. He needs to answer them for her.

thats what hapenes when you have more then one child though,you have to explain stuff. idk how to explain this to her, iv never lost a baby before
