is progress a bad thing ?

ive heard so many people talk about progress like its the worst thing ever .im not from America I moved here recently some guy was asking me questions about my world veiw .he scoffed at my answeres and said "oh your for progress " in a really weird snotty tone I dont understand ?

im fron Switzerland ive never come across this .

Did he perhaps say "you're a progressive?" Generally, progress is not bad, but a "progressive" person could be viewed as too liberal, politically.

 I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at, but I can say with certainty that I believe forward progress to be a good thing.

Nothing. However, "progressive" has become a buzzword, similar to "leftist," or "liberal."
