I had it taken out after 6 months. It caused unbearable pain. I almost pulled it out myself a few times but got scared.

It's actually 12 years.

I'm getting it tomorrow. =)

Where I go, they only leave it 10 years before replacing it.

I had mine for 10 years. There were positives and negatives.

I had mine for I want to say 2-2 1/2 years. The insertion wasn't fun, but it was relatively quick. My periods were always on time, just heavier/longer than usual. Still, I would recommend it.

Might be a newer version? Not sure. I doubt I'll keep it in for that long anyway. I only have one kiddo, but am not looking to add anymore anytime soon. Granted since I'll be 29 this summer, if I do add some more it'll be within 6-7 years.

Removal is much better than insertion :) I barely felt it, which surprised me lol
