So my dd is ten and is taking sex ed. Today she brought home a little book on how its wonderful being a woman and what a joy it is to have a period. Excuse me? Yes, its a happy time because your a women but the rest saying how having a period is a joyful time. I giggled telling my dd that becoming a young lady is a special time. But I explained to her with a period also comes with cramps. She has been getting cramps around the same time each month so I know its coming.
But I swore a man wrote that little book on how wonderful a period is and how its the happiest time in your life.

I'll never forgrt the first time. The cramps were so bad I got sick. I hope it isn't that bad for her....maybe save the book so you can both laugh (or burn!) At it later!

They are probably just trying to put a positive spin on something that can be scary for a girl the first time.
