Trip opportunity..... But would leave $0 in savings

I have a wonderful chance to travel over seas to visit long lost family. It is a once in a life time opportunity since one relative has failing health and others are coming together for a celebration. If I don't go, I might never have a chance like this again. If I do go my family will be broke (not that we have much money in the first place.)

Would you go if you were me?

I would not go if it meant my family suffer financially.

Lol! That was my initial response, too. But now I'm having doubts. Leaving my family that financially vulnerable feels very uncomfortable.

I would have to weigh the positives and negatives and discuss it with hubby before any decisions were made.

No. My family's financial security is more important to me.
