I am hosting the baby shower for my brother and SIL and I want to include something like this with the invitations

I think this is a great idea to get the baby's library started. Do you think it's tacky to ask for a book instead of a card? I figure they can go to the thrift store and find a book for a few cents and it will be something that the baby/child can use for years.

I love it! My only concern with these is that people tend to always get the same books and since they're writing in them there's no way to return doubles.

I think it's a great idea and that card is really cute.

I'm the annoying book giving aunt so the kids always get a book from me. They all got one for Christmas. I think they were a bit disappointed. lol Anyway, not tacky to me but I love books!

i think it's great.

because cards either A get thrown away, or B lost. and ripped.

Love it! I hate cards! I always throw them away.

I really like the idea.

If I was attending, I'd have no problem bringing a couple books. And depending where you buy, and what series you go with, you can actually get a decent set of books - like Dr. Seuss.
