My daughter is a junior in hs
She will be taking the act test soon.

My husband wants her to take tutoring classes at Huntington tutoring

We went yesterday and it is roughly around 4k for three months, one on one

Have you used thus center for act or other subjects? Is it worth the 4,000?

I have no idea about Huntington but have you checked care.com? My fiancé found a tutor for his daughter there and she was wonderful and reasonably priced.

I spent one summer there "teaching." I thought it was horrible. Just books and books of outdated worksheets. They give the kids a test to see what they miss, then worksheets to work on the skills in the problems missed.

The kids complete worksheets independently, then submit to me for checking. If they got them all right, I moved them to the next skill. If they didn't, I gave them another assignment. An endless loop of worksheets that you can do at home. Very little teaching and certainly nothing revolutionary.

It was awful, really.
