Why do you look down on it?

Spanking that is. Some mothers still believe in it and pratice it. Some think it's outdated and just plain wrong. What are your thoughts and feelings on the subject?

Yes this is kind of a spin off of the overreacting mother who's child was punished three times.

I don't look down on it, but I don't do it.

It's none of my business.

I don't spank, never will.

I think it's abuse and just plain wrong. There is no good reason to hit a child, in my opinion.

Parent choice. I am not quite sure as my child is still very young. I am going to avoid it the best I can but I am not against it.

I don't think it's necessary to hurt a child to effectively punish them.

Okay. What about back in the day when it was the norm and was perfectly acceptable to spank and when the older generation even say it didn't hurt them. Do you still say it was abuse? Why do you think it has switched from a positive to a negative?

I'm just trying to understand what others think and feel about the subject.
