tooth extraction

I had a back molar out 2 hours ago, and it's SO painful and swollen. I'm allergic to motrin and the dentist gave me 12 vicodin with instructions to take 1-2 tablets every 4 hrs. as needed.  I took 2 30 minutes ago and it STILL hurts:/ will this be enough painkillers? OUCH :( this hurts so much.

Can you use orajel? I'd honestly probably swipe a dab of DD's if I were hurting like that.

It hurts... Especially molars. Let the Vicodin make make you sleepy and them go to sleep. It will hurt for the next 24 hours probably.

The best way to combat that pain is to stay ahead of it. take the meds before the pain is too intense...works better that way. Also do everything you can to avoid dry socket. that is worse pain than labor....1:4 women get it d/t hormones. clove oil will be a lifesaver if that happens. good luck!

I don't think it will help... maybe something cold.
