Would you leave your child under 18 home alone for a long period of time ?if your a working mom would you leave your kid home alone while you went to work?it scares the hell out of me that so many of you leave children home alone for such long periods. What if theres a fire or a robbery what if they try to cook and burn themslves by accident. What if one does something stupid and needs to go to the er. There are so many variables i would never leave my kids home alone for more than an hr tops at 16 i would never go away for a weekend without a baby sitter.

Yes. My parents would go away every so often when I hit 15 no biggie.

I would probably be able to do that with my kids but no need to. I have left them alone to go run errands though.

Depends on how old and how mature.

My daughter sometimes has to be alone in the afternoons if I have a meeting for work and her dad is working. She is probably going to spend some days home alone over the summer.

My parents used to leave the country for weeks at a time when we were under eighteen . To answer your question----hell no!! That messed my life up.

Under 18 is a bit broad, but yes, of course. Not my 5yo, but my 13yo is more than capable of staying by herself for a while. I can't imagine never leaving my kids alone until they're old enough to move out.

Yes, depending on their maturity level.

Too many variables to give a blanket answer.
