After an argument? No. We don't really have bad arguments, are arguments are about silly stupid shit we get over in like 10 minutes.

But he was AD Army for 9 years, and several deployments, TDY, etc, so we have spent extended periods of time away from each other.

Made things worse, both our minds went to the other person is not calling, they must not care and maybe they wanted this for a reason.....I went to my parents and it did make things worse.  I should have stayed and just not be in the same room until we both cooled off enough to actually talk and get to the root of the issue.  Once we did that then it was great.

life is to precious to spend fighting or any more time apart than we already do, we have never fought, yes we are rare but we decided that every moment spent together to savor.

ive heard it does good but also could make things worse. depends on how big the fight was or what it was about of course.

That would make it way worse. Dh likes to go in another room for about 10-20 minutes and even that makes me angry. I can't imagine spending days apart. We usually work things out within 30 minutes.
