The very last episode we saw before he became off-limits featured Caillou bossing around a poor girl during a playdate. Clementine didn't want to play what Caillou wanted to play, so he exploded and started screaming and throwing a temper tantrum. Then Clementine had to say sorry to Caillou for no reason, and Caillou got off scot-free.

I caved yesterday and let DD watch one last episode, but that was it.

Quoting MMIC: Clementine was being a bossy bitch! She's the guest, she doesn't get to call the shots...

Caillou is sooo annoying.  He's a whiny, bratty kid.

Quoting lovemymini: If I don't see what exactly happened I always make both kids apologize.

Caillou is supposed to be 3 or 4 right? That's appropriate behavior for a kid that age to do and need to learn from. I don't get the whole I hate Caillou thing.
LoL. , my kids used to watch Calliou 12 years ago, they didn't age him?

People are crazy over this Caillou crap.

I've dealt with the exact situation the same way.

Quoting Anonymous:

she said they both needed to apologize, and she went first. she didnt HAVE to do anything.

Quoting CEG-PAT:

But Clementine had to apologize before anything else.

Quoting Anonymous:

uh sounded like calliou apologized just the same as she did. seriously? your brain working?

Caillou is intended to be a lesson in parenting for caregivers as much as it is educational for the children who watch it.  The caregivers in Caillou are modelling correct parenting behavior.

She took his toys without asking. They both apologized. The only issue I see, is he's a bit dramatic. I don't care about that so much, honestly.

Calliou has always been off limits here.. I've actually never understood why so many parents hate it but still allow their kids to watch it

We've never watched it, but IMHO, more often than not parents see way you much in TV shows that are meant for entertainment purposes.
Chill, it's not such a big deal.

The show on Netflix is so different. Different voices and he is drawn different.
