Would you allow your child to sleep over their friends house if the child's parents had AIDS, and you knew about it?

Nope

My children do not sleep at anyone's house for any reason. Any sleepovers are held at my house only

He might have a peanut allergy. I was raped as a kid and I have some serious issues when I even think about my son being away from me. When he's ten-ish of course I'll let him have sleep overs. But by that age I'll have taught him about sexual abuse and why sharing bodily fluids is something you don't do. So by then it would be okay.

Really? Your child won't be allowed at all? I'm not trying to be rude, but I remember that being some of the fun times as a child so I always find it weird when I come across parents who wouldn't allow it. Does your child/children have some kind of allergy or behavioral problem...or do you simply not want them watched by other people?

Quoting TurtleMami:

No. Call me a helicopter, but I will not let him sleep over at anyone's house.

Yes. Why wouldn't I?

As long as they're responsible parents. That goes for ALL parents my kids are exposed to.
H.I.V. or AIDS status doesn't matter. Sexual orientation doesn't matter. Religion doesn't matter. Socioeconomic status doesn't matter. Ethnicity doesn't matter. I have no issue with my children going for sleepovers. As long as they're in the care of good parents, as long as the other parents are responsible and trustworthy.....the other crap doesn't matter.

Yes. I assume they aren't sharing needles or having sex so I don't see why not.

First of all, the parent is probably HIV positive and does not have AIDS.  Secondly, unless they were going to share a needle, have sex with, or give my son a blood transfusion, I'd be ok with him staying with a friend who has an HIV positive parent.

My brother is HIV positive, for over 14 years, and non of us has 'caught' it.  (And, with medicine these days, he will probably, many years from now, die with HIV, not from it.)
