Or they are taking away my medicaid and foodstamps and I have until March 28. Is this a new law?!?! Can I appeal it ?!? :/

Been around for years.  Why should the state or federal government pay, if there is a parent they can get the money from?

Its pretty much a requirement. Cant expect free handouts all the time

If you know who the father is you have to file for child support. Why should the state pay for your child when neither of the parents will?

Pretty typical. At one point my SIL had her baby daddy sign something saying he was giving her money even though he wasn't because she knew he wouldn't keep up with payments and they were going to take away her medical.

They did that to my friend. They would rather the childs father pay child support than pay more in assistance. Makes sense to me, if he can off set some of the cost they  will.
