The damn child support took the whole tax return! We were to be getting $7000 and we had planned on getting a second car and a camping trip to spend time with all the kids. Also put away at least $2,500 for anything that may come up. The spouse who owed some child support has no income at this time and the taxes were filed joint. Only 1 spouse had all the earnings and child support had no right to touch the money! They could only take from the spouse who owes not the whole damn return just because their name was listed on it as married!
The spouse who owes spent about half the year in the hospital for major illness and was unable to work. The support was being paid partial and got behind by a few months. The child's other parent doesnt even give the money that is paid to the child but instead uses it on themselves to party and drops the kid off at grandma's or aunt's house.
The amount owed was less the then $7000 but they took it all! As for what the other parent spends on the child tells us all the time they are at auntie's or grany's house while the other parent is out at the bar or some concert or cruise. The other parent is not hurting at all for money.
